Today, consultations were held in an online format with members of the National MSME Platform - heads of business associations. The event was initiated by the Institute for the Development of the Real Estate Market of Ukraine "Plektan", in partnership with the National MSME Platform, while the key partner in the consultation process was the UN Development Project (UNDP) Strengthening Membership of MSME Business Associations in Ukraine.
🔸Main topic of discussion
The participants of the meeting focused on creating an advocacy hub that will serve as a platform for enhancing interaction between business associations and advocating for the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the national level.
Separately, the possibility of merging the efforts of the National MSME Platform and the Ukrainian Business Council (UBC) was considered. Such a partnership will contribute to more effective promotion of initiatives related to improving the conditions for doing business in Ukraine.
🔸Key results of the consultations
As a result of the meeting, the participants made a decision regarding:
✔️ Development of an advocacy campaign aimed at reducing the tax burden when selling real estate.
✔️ Initiation of the creation of an advocacy hub that will become a resource center for supporting entrepreneurs and their interaction with government authorities.
This initiative aims to strengthen the dialogue between business and public structures, which will allow for a more prompt response to challenges and protect the rights of entrepreneurs.
🔸Next steps
In the near future, it is planned to form a working group that will focus on developing specific mechanisms for the functioning of the advocacy hub and detailing the campaign regarding changes in tax legislation.
The consultations supported by UNDP have become an important step towards creating an effective mechanism for advocating business interests in Ukraine. The organizers invite other business associations and entrepreneurs who wish to influence the economic conditions in the country to collaborate.
